Who We Are :
Merchant Cash Express Limited has been funding the small business sector in the UK since 2007. The idea was first conceived when the senior management team began researching into how they could offer more flexible and immediate types of funding to small businesses. The most common and successful in the USA since 1999 were Business Cash Advances made to small partnerships, sole traders and privately owned companies.
Becoming increasingly aware of the tightening of traditional funding options available to UK businesses, Richard Morley and Ian Morrison believed that the introduction of the Business Cash Advance would benefit smaller to medium sized companies who needed cash for their business quickly and with the minimum of fuss. In 2006, Lloyds TSB Cardnet was approached by MCE and they formed a partnership. By 2007 the Business Cash Advance product was tested and there proved to be a high demand for this type of product in the UK.
Since then thousands of customers have benefited from business cash advances within all UK industry groups, the common theme being that these businesses have regular monthly credit and debit card sales. A lack of availability of unsecured business loans from traditional sources has also increased demand.
The very high level of repeat customers indicates that this form of funding meets the needs of many small businesses, that it is easy to arrange and is by far the most cash-flow friendly way of funding whether that funding is for expansion, anomalistic opportunities or short term cash-flow liquidity.
In 2009 Merchant Cash Express Limited became a wholly owned subsidiary of Dollar Financial Corp, a US financial services company listed on NASDAQ (DLLR). The original management team remain in place.
